Carol O’Toole is a painter and printmaker, living and working in Cornwall. Carol studied fine art at Falmouth School of Art and Birmingham School of Art. Alongside her fine art practice she has lectured in Art & Design for many years and runs specialist art workshops and masterclasses.
Her work is concerned with both the landscape and the human form as motif. There is an underlying search for structure and mood within all her work which shows her love of drawing and an understanding of the emotional impact of colour.
Landscape work is often inspired by the atmosphere and wildness of Cornwall but she also uses the landscape of her travels. Within her work with the human figure, and very often the moving figure or people occupied with some activity, a search for the emotional presence of the person is evident.
A variety of media are used in her work, both as painter and printmaker. Carol exhibits regularly in Cornwall, London and abroad.
