Situated on the water’s edge the quiet village of Devoran is located between the cathedral city of Truro and the historic town of Falmouth.
With a fascinating history as a thriving port Devoran still retains the quay and tramway road that served the shipping and mining industries in the 19th century.
The village boasts a great pub, the Old Quay Inn, and is centrally located near the main A39 Truro- Falmouth road. Close to hand is the award winning National Maritime Museum at Falmouth, the waterside Trelissick Gardens & Gallery, Truro Cathedral, and the King Harry Ferry which will take you to the beautiful Roseland Peninsula.
Further afield there are many outstanding gardens, historic houses and castles, museums, galleries and theatres. Explore a little further west and discover the artistic communities of Penzance, Newlyn and St Ives. To be recommended are the Tate Gallery and Barbara Hepworth Museum, St Ives, the Newlyn Gallery and Penlee House in Penzance.
The vibrant and diverse Cornish arts community ensures there are always new and interesting exhibitions and performances to be enjoyed. Locally there are a range of excellent bed and breakfasts, hotels and waterside holiday cottages.
